Humanize vs Usability

Eight great concepts on humanized interfaces: The main thing you have to remember — and please remember this, because it could be vital to your sanity — is that any problems you have with an interface are not your fault.
1. It's not your fault.

We've being busy although we write less here.
sm00sh has a few inside changes but it is far from getting out of Beta. The community section is rolling and we hope to have it soon available to the public. Also, the redirector will work more like others alike when destiny is a certified web page and allow you to see the final content and, at the same time, share it with many others via social networks.
Lots os SPAM being caught. You can imagine, but 80% of all submissions are pure scams.
New projects on the run: sm00sh URL shortner
Submitted by ipublicis on Fri, 08/28/2009 - 18:08.
We have being busy...
We just launched our new project sm00sh in Beta. It is a(nother) URL shortner, but with a (few) twists.
But we aim to make it roll way beyond the existing ones. It still lacks the community functionalities being activated but we decided to release soon, release often so we decided to turn the nuclear portion of it available sooner, i.e. the URL shortner/redirector part.

Empowering local news communicators
Submitted by ipublicis on Tue, 11/25/2008 - 12:52.
We are preparing a project that will allow local newspapers and individuals that wish to produce a structured news media website to do it the easy way. And almost for free (€5,00/month is almost free).
Searching for funding to implement it is the starting point.
Pulse-ing

A new great venture from the Knight Foundation is their newest community site to discuss the future of information.
Despite the seemingly never-ending flow of news, people around the globe still struggle to find the information they need to make basic decisions about their life.

One is the SAPO Codebits, which is a sort of Google Summer Of Code but smaller and directed to the portuguese public. It's a web programming contest different from others. No rules, promotes an informal and relaxed environment, try to create the necessary conditions to participants' creativity and inovation. Can check at SAPO Codebits wiki. Two of my friends will be there, talking both and one competing with a very interesting Drupal-based project.

This a very interesting contest for those working with Free Software and with community projects. Some info from their own site:
The 2009 Knight News Challenge is year three of a contest awarding as much as $5 million a year for innovative ideas that develop platforms, tools and services to inform and transform community news, conversations, and information distribution and visualization. Knight Foundation plans to invest at least $25 million over five years in the search for bold community news and social media experiments.
